I went with my family to my mom’s native place, Karkala in Karnataka for my cousin sister’s marriage. We started out journey on 13th August by train, I and my sister enjoyed a lot in the train as it was our first travel experience after Covid. We reached our grandparents’ house on 14th August 9 am, that day in the evening we celebrated my sister’s bachelorette party and Rakhi celebrations.

On 15th August at 7:30 am, I, along with my family, saw Flag Hoisting     by our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on television. Later, we went to Kerala to visit the Manjeshwar Anantha Padmanabha temple, Kumble Santana Gopalkrishna temple and Ananthapur Lake temple.  Ananthapur Lake Temple is an ancient temple where we saw ‘Babiya’ a seventy-year-old Crocodile who stays in the temple-pond and eats only the rice offered to God.

On 16th August, we visited Kukke Subramanya temple and Surya temple. On 18th we visited our Kuldevi Mahalasa Narayani Temple at Shirva and Udupi Sri Krishna Mutt. It was Krishna Janmasthami on that day and in the evening, we celebrated the festival at my grandfather’s place by performing pooja. Five different types of Panchkajaya and laddoos were offered to Lord Krishna.

On August 19th and 20th my cousin sisters Haldi, Sangeet, Mehendi, Bangle ceremonies were there. On 21st August, I attended the wedding and on the same day evening there was a flight for us back to Mumbai. I and my sister had a great experience in the flight too. We were looking outside the window when the flight took off and landed and we reached home by late night 2 am on 22nd August. This was the best journey I had after Covid with my family.
