Whenever I look around myself, I find people busy with their mobile phones, unaware of their surroundings. These people are so immersed in their phones that they don’t even need humans to interact. Such people are called ‘Nomophobic’ i.e., people suffering from a phobia of losing their mobile.
Nomophobic people are found everywhere. While eating, crossing roads, in schools, or even in bathrooms. As if they can live without oxygen but not without their phones. These people are dead from inside and, in this case, phone works as a ventilator for them. What disturbs me the most is when I see four family members sitting in one room looking at their phones and completely disconnected to each other.
This is the cause of depression and anxiety among adolescents. Children are active only on social media which makes them inactive physically, socially and suppresses their mental ability. We have to come up with a solution as soon as possible.
We all have a tendency to look at those poppy notifications. Let’s first start by controlling this behaviour. Engage yourself in various activities ‘physically’. Develop hobbies to make yourself creative and productive. Avoid using social media. Instead, talk to that person on call. Explore yourself. Pursue your dream. Make yourself and your life useful.
So, let’s contribute, instead of our phone doing the contribution. I am sure we all can achieve what we want and we can get rid of the nomophobia. Just believe in yourself. You can do it.
