Freedom Fighter THE UNSUNG WARRIORS                                                                             By Rahoul SahaXI B (Commerce)

Freedom fighters are those people who fought to free their country from the oppressors and sacrificed their lives to free the people and make their life better and fulfill it with the taste of freedom. Today, to make our lives better, these people often faced “TILL DEATH IMPRISONMENT” and “THIRD DEGREE TORTURES”.

These fighters never cared about their homes and their families; they just thought about their country and their countrymen who were oppressed. Many of them were only teenagers who sacrificed their lives to make the country free. In India too, we had many freedom fighters who made the ultimate sacrifice but today’s free generation knows just few of them, Khudiram Bose, Subhash Chandra Bose, Veer Savarkar, Bhagat Singh, Tantya Tope and Gopinath Saha.

These people were youngsters between the age of 15 and 20 years who fought against the Britishers to make our country free and independent.

The most important effect that the freedom fighters left on the people of the society are that they inspired others to understand their rights and stand up against the people misusing power. They inspired others to join their struggle. It was because of the freedom fighters that the countrymen united with a bond of nationalism and patriotic feeling.

Shahid Bhagat Singh

Khudiram Bose

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose

Bhagat Singh, Khudiram Bose and Gopinath Saha these fighters were convicted to be hanged till death at very young age.Though these great young leaders are no more physically present, their ideas and the courage is still fresh in people’s minds with the patriotic feeling in the air.

Today’s generation has forgotten those people who sacrificed their lives in a single instance to let us taste freedom of life and our real abilities. The time is ripe for all of us to start honoring our true heroes and real roots, Indian culture and heritage should awaken the feelings of pride in us as true Indians.
