TIPS TO FOLLOW JUST BEFORE EXAMS

Board Exams are one of the most crucial phases in a student’s life. The last 24 hours before an exam can be very stressful. However, it can also be an extremely useful period for consolidation, and should therefore be used wisely.

Knowing how to prepare yourself helps get rid of stress anxiety and helps you perform better. The following guided list of plans can be helpful in such time and calm your nerves down.

During the day before your exam, you should move steadily with revisions and the scheduled tasks of the day.

1) Do not overdo anything –

Students continue studying for hours without taking any breaks. This habit causes burnout and sometimes makes students forget their studied parts. Instead of revising at a stretch, take short breaks, and let your brain recharge.

2) Avoid working on new topics –

Do not start working on a new topic. The time is too less, and new material needs extra focus and understanding, which can cause more stress. Work with the things you have already studied and learned.

3) Revise each topic –

This final day should be regarded as a consolidation period. It is, therefore, a good idea to read over summaries such as mind-maps, or one-page bullet point summaries of each topic. If you have not already prepared those, doing so can be a good way to review the topic, and check your understanding.

4) Get Some Exercise –

After studying for so long, give your body a rest and let it move. Go out for a short walk, get some fresh air. Getting some exercise will help you get rid of any stress and help your brain recharge.

5) Meditation –

When you feel like everything is becoming very stressful, and especially before going to sleep, stop and meditate for at least 10 minutes. Take deep breaths. Let your mind be calm for a few minutes so that you can recharge and slowly work on the things you need to.

6) Prepare For the Morning –

Keep the night to prepare your essential items so that you do not miss them out in the morning rush. Get your ID card and stationery ready so that you don’t have to keep finding them in the morning. This process will also ensure not to leave out crucial materials behind.

7) Get Proper Sleep –

Don’t stay up late to study. Late-night study sessions can seem to work at times, but not giving your brain rest just before the exam, you might have a hard time recalling the information you need.

8) Get Up Early –

The morning of the exam is all about being prepared and organized. You have to get into your positive approach and calm mindset to take on the exam. Get up early so that you can do plenty of short, timed revisions. Check to see if you have all your equipment ready.

9) Eat Healthy Breakfast and Drink Enough Water –

Eat a filling and healthy breakfast to reenergize yourself, and feel good-spirited and prepared for the exam. Drink enough water so that you don’t feel dehydrated and uncomfortable during the exam.

10) Stay calm and composed –

Stay calm and focused for your boards. Don’t panic and have confidence in yourself, and remind yourself that you have prepared well.

Do not forget that your attitude and mental state has a lot to do with your board exams. Do not panic, and ensure that you keep yourself calm and composed throughout the exam. Try and stay focused and determined to achieve your goal, and no one can stop you from acing the exam.
